Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student growth as a General Education and ESL Teacher in a vibrant school setting near Metairie, LA. This full-time assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue through the end of the academic year in late May 2027. You'll play an essential role in fostering inclusive, engaging classrooms for diverse learners while working Monday through Friday, 7-hour days, plus a 30-minute lunch, following the local school calendar.

Required skills and experience:

• Current, active Louisiana DOE Teaching Certification (Temporary Authority to Teach certificates cannot be accepted)
• Prior experience teaching ESL and/or general education within a school environment is highly valued
• Strong communication and instructional skills for adapting lessons to meet varied learning needs
• Dedication to supporting academic progress for learners of different age groups and abilities
• Ability to manage caseloads and adapt to multiple school assignments, as determined by the district
• Must complete all time-sensitive onboarding requirements, including district-mandated drug screening and fingerprinting

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver core curriculum and English as a Second Language instruction to student groups, using evidence-based strategies
• Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom that encourages participation and language development
• Collaborate with school staff, administration, and families to address students’ educational goals
• Assess and document student progress, ensuring compliance with school and district standards
• Integrate differentiated instruction and classroom management techniques for optimal learning outcomes
