Customer Service Support Specialist

About the Role Mountain West Bank is seeking a part‑time Customer Support Specialist (20-25 hours per week) located in either Coeur d'Alene or Meridian, Idaho. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences across bank products and digital channels while representing Mountain West Bank’s core values. Duties and Responsibilities Uphold and promote the bank’s core beliefs, core values, and customer service standards, collectively known as “Our Compass.” Support community initiatives through department fundraising activities or volunteering during bank‑sponsored events. Provide exceptional customer service with genuine enthusiasm, empathy, and compassion, ensuring each interaction meets service standards. Assist customers with questions about personal finances, products, features, benefits, and routine inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality. Ensure all written customer correspondence is grammatically accurate and professionally written. Perform routine account maintenance, such as address and phone number changes, stop payments, funds transfers, and check orders. Acquire proficiency in all bank products and services to provide excellent service and cross‑sell products when appropriate. Order new ATM/Debit cards and reissue replacement cards upon request. Reset passwords and unlock online banking users. Prepare and submit ACH and debit card disputes. Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control. Position Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year of customer service experience. Embodies a customer‑first mindset with genuine enthusiasm for assisting customers. Excellent communication and customer service skills via phone, email, and chat. Ability to manage a high volume of correspondence. Strong written and grammatical skills. Impeccable manners and strict confidentiality. Strong organizational skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skill, Ability Prior banking experience. Knowledge of Jack Henry Systems. Understanding of banking regulations and compliance. Previous call center experience. Work Environment Must be able to work indoors in a climate‑controlled shared area with moderate noise levels. Physical Demands Required tasks include 6‑8 hours of seated computer work, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Additional requirements include routine use of standard office equipment, reliable attendance, and the ability to climb or descend stairs in an emergency. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary: $17.81 per hour + DOE (experience‑based).
