RN Operating Room

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures across multiple specialties including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dental. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires flexibility to work varied hours, including on-call shifts and emergency cases, while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary surgical team. Responsibilities:

• Perform perioperative nursing care including patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Circulate in various surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dental.
• Assist with scrubbing and sterile techniques during surgical procedures as required.
• Prepare patients and operating room for surgical procedures and emergency cases on short notice.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and patient status throughout perioperative phases.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain certifications relevant to perioperative nursing.

• Current, full, and unrestricted Professional Nursing License valid in any U.S. state, territory, or Commonwealth.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of hire.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification within one year of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within two years of hire.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Minimum of two years clinical nursing and/or operating room experience.

• Experience in multiple surgical specialties and perioperative nursing.
• Scrubbing experience in the operating room.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.

• Must be flexible to work varied and odd hours, including on-call shifts.
• Preparedness to respond to emergency surgical cases on short notice.
• Work environment includes a culturally diverse patient population in a semi-desert region.
• Limited housing options available; shared housing provided based on availability with restrictions on family and pets.

• Day shift schedule with potential for varied hours depending on on-call and emergency needs.
• Shift assignments may include weekends and holidays as required by perioperative demands.
