RN, Registered Nurse - Preop

Position Purpose The Preop/PACU/PAT/PHASE 2 departments at Mount Carmel Dublin provide pre‑surgical and post‑surgical care across multiple units. The RN will care for patients arriving from operating rooms, endoscopy suite, non‑invasive cardiac lab, and radiology suites, with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:2 in PACU and one new patient per hour in pre‑op. Work Schedule Full time, day shift, 4 ten‑hour shifts per week. Responsibilities Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence‑based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibits professionalism within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence‑based practice and collaborates with patients and families to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual, and educational components. Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner and keeps patients/families apprised and updated. Documents accurately and completely the assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure/Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. For Casual RNs, 2 years of experience is required. All new graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
