Assistant Manager - Marketplace

The Assistant Manager, Marketplace is responsible for owning and driving the commercial performance of the company's marketplace channels, while also managing the company's own eCommerce site. The role leads the day-to-day management of key platforms to deliver revenue growth, market share, strong customer experience, and sustainable commercial outcomes. The role owns end-to-end marketplace performance across key platforms such as Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, and oversees the ongoing operation and optimisation of the company's own eCommerce site. The position focuses on achieving revenue targets, improving conversion performance, executing major campaign events, and maintaining healthy contribution margins. This is an individual contributor role with primary ownership of Marketplace, working cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service and relevant commercial teams to deliver marketplace growth in alignment with the company's overall commercial and marketing strategy. Key Responsibilities 1. Marketplace & eCommerce Sales Performance Own and deliver revenue targets across marketplace platforms, while supporting the commercial performance of the company's own eCommerce site. Develop and execute marketplace plans to grow online sales and market share across Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, in alignment with the company's overall commercial and marketing strategy. Own marketplace performance tracking against budget and targets, identifying opportunities to accelerate growth. Analyse sales data, platform insights and competitor activities to optimise marketplace performance. 2. Marketplace Management Lead the day-to-day management of marketplace stores including product listings, pricing, promotions and platform participation. Optimise product visibility, search ranking, and store performance metrics within marketplace ecosystems. Build strong relationships with platform account managers to maximise exposure and commercial performance through campaign participation, media packages, promotional opportunities, rebates, visibility initiatives, and co-funding partnerships. Ensure strong store health metrics including customer ratings, fulfilment performance, and compliance with platform policies. Review agency and platform performance and recommend changes where required. 3. Own eCommerce Site Manage the ongoing operation and commercial performance of the company's own eCommerce site, including product content, promotions, traffic conversion and user experience optimisation. Collaborate with Marketing and relevant partners to support digital campaigns, CRM initiatives and traffic generation strategies for the own eCommerce site. Monitor site performance and identify opportunities to improve the online customer journey, conversion rate and average order value. 4. Marketplace Campaign Planning & Execution Lead the planning and execution of key marketplace campaigns including major platform events such as 3.3, 6.6, 9.9, 11.11 and 12.12. Develop marketplace campaign plans including promotional mechanics, bundling and pricing tactics to maximise campaign impact. Analyse campaign outcomes and identify improvement opportunities for future campaigns. 5. Marketplace Commercial Performance & Profitability Management Own and manage key marketplace performance indicators including: Channel revenue Conversion rate Contribution margin Marketplace traffic and customer growth Campaign performance Ensure marketplace sales growth is achieved while maintaining healthy profitability and brand pricing discipline. Prepare regular marketplace performance reports, insights and recommendations for management. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Marketing teams to align marketplace campaigns, advertising strategies and traffic generation initiatives. Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure inventory availability and fulfilment efficiency. Work with Customer Service teams to maintain high customer satisfaction across marketplace and own eCommerce channels. Collaborate with Retail and other relevant commercial teams to support coordinated customer and channel initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, eCommerce, or a related field. 3-5 years of relevant experience in eCommerce, digital commerce, or marketplace management, with strong hands-on marketplace experience. Hands-on experience managing marketplace platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, or Amazon. Experience managing or supporting an own eCommerce site is advantageous but not essential. Strong understanding of marketplace commercial models and platform campaign mechanics. Commercially driven with the ability to balance sales growth and profitability.
