How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) As a member of Delta’s pension team, the Specialist of Pension Investments will work collaboratively to drive strong investment performance for Delta’s retirement plan assets. Alongside strategic partners, the team currently manages $17 billion in defined‑benefit pension assets and oversees the investment options available in Delta’s 401(k) plans, which currently comprise over $40 billion in participant‑directed investments. While the Specialist will work across asset classes and investment strategies, you will also lead the expanded analysis of our private market investment exposures. In the role, you will be expected to take ownership of investment projects and prepare materials for senior Delta leaders in a highly dynamic and deadline‑oriented environment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading the expansion of our private market investment data analysis Actively contributing to investment decision‑making, participating in meetings with existing and prospective investment managers, writing and distributing meeting notes, and remaining informed on investment manager activity Independently managing external party relationships Generating and tailoring risk and performance attribution reports for total portfolio and underlying investments across different asset classes and strategies Monitoring global market conditions and summarizing capital markets research Collaborating and coordinating with the team across a variety of workflows and ad‑hoc projects What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint At least an intermediate‑level understanding of finance and accounting Strong written and oral communications across all levels of Delta and with external partners Effective problem‑solving, analytical skill, and attention to detail Thrives with complex decision‑making and in working under pressure to meet deadlines Excellent organizational skills, and ability to juggle responsibilities with appropriate prioritization Business maturity and unwavering presentation of Delta values Informed and curious about varied investments across evolving markets Self‑motivation, high degree of initiative, and drive to achieve At least three years of professional experience required (preferably 4–6 years) Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) Passion for investing and intellectual curiosity Desire and willingness to pursue additional education such as the CFA designation Demonstrated natural inquisitiveness, outside the box thinking to question assumptions and develop new solutions to problems Builds relationships and partner trust with ease, fostering a cross‑collaborative culture Benefits and Perks to Help You Keep Climbing Our culture is rooted in a shared dedication to living our values – Care, Integrity, Resilience, Servant Leadership, and Teamwork – every day, in everything we do.
