Description The Senior Director, Analytic Data Platform is responsible for defining a common analytic data platform to support all enterprise analytic needs. The common data platform delivers many enhancements to the administrative data to allow efficient analytic operation and reporting. The enhancements include diagnosis grouping, inpatient grouping (MS-DRG, APR-DRG), cost and utilization categorization, membership assignment to provider organizations, product designation, provider specialty, drug therapeutic class, and member risk scoring. The Director will also incorporate clinical data obtained from external parties to allow analysis in clinical quality and outcomes. This position reports to VP, Enterprise Analytics and Informatics. The Director, leads a team of analysts, has in-depth understanding of how information is consumed, and how analytics support all types of business functions in the organization. He/she collaborates with Data Services Organization to plan and to deliver the analytic data platform. Specific duties include, but not limited to: Compiles enterprise analytic data needs, and partners in developing an enterprise roadmap of analytic data platform. Provides detailed requirements for analytic data platform; works closely with Data Services to deliver the roadmap. Creates, maintains, and updates analytic enhancements, including software upgrade or methodology modifications. Develops, maintains, and updates standard definitions of commonly used metrics. Maintains a knowledge base for these definitions for the enterprise. Generates routine health care cost and utilization reports and identify saving opportunities Provides reports or data extracts for external organizations, in collaboration with Data Services Team. Supports ad-hoc data requests. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, public health, economics, statistics, computer science, finance, or a relevant field. Master's preferred. Minimum 10 years of analytic experience supporting functional areas (clinical, network management, medical management) in health insurance industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in analyzing health care insurance claims data. Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in data analysis tools, including but not limited to SAS, SQL, SPSS, Access, Cognos, Tableau.
