Medical Director, Pediatric Liver Transplant Program

Cohen Children's Medical Center, in collaboration with Northwell Health and The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, is seeking a Board Certified Pediatric Hepatologist to serve as the Medical Director of their Pediatric Liver Transplant program. This role offers the opportunity to lead an active transplant program within a large academic Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. The successful candidate will contribute to a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for children with liver diseases.

Practice Info

• Part of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, which includes 16 full-time faculty members and an ACGME approved Fellowship program.
• Multidisciplinary team includes medical and surgical specialists, advanced pediatric biliary endoscopy, pediatric and liver pathologists, pediatric and interventional radiology, nursing, and social work.
• Collaboration with a highly successful adult liver transplant center.
• The Division has a long-standing clinical research program with three research coordinators.
• Cohen Children's Medical Center is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, serving 1.8 million children annually.
• Tertiary pediatric medical center of the Northwell Health System and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Nassau and Queens.

• Appointment at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate, Professor or Professor will be provided, commensurate with experience, training, academic portfolio, and teaching activities

Requirements

• Board certification in both Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Transplant Hepatology (required)
• At least 5-10 years of experience in an active pediatric liver transplant program (required)
• Proven track record of clinical and research excellence (required)
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills (required)
