RN Cath Lab

The Registered Nurse in the Interventional/Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiology, vascular, and radiology procedures. This role involves patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care during angiography, cardiac catheterization, pacemaker, and IABP insertion procedures. The nurse must demonstrate proficiency with specialized equipment and maintain knowledge of related imaging modalities. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an interventional cath lab is required. Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care during interventional radiology, vascular, and cardiac procedures including angiography and cardiac catheterization.
• Perform patient assessments and hemodynamic monitoring before, during, and after procedures.
• Apply specialized skills for patients undergoing pacemaker and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) insertion.
• Maintain knowledge and appropriate use of radiology equipment and image processing technologies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver patient care.
• Document patient care and procedural details accurately in the electronic medical record (Meditech).
• Participate in on-call rotation approximately 1-2 days per week, including weekends and holidays.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards in the cath lab environment.

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum 2 years experience in an interventional cath lab setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiology, cardiovascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
• Familiarity with computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine procedures.
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and specialized patient care during cardiac procedures.
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record documentation.

• Advanced certifications related to interventional cardiology or radiology nursing.
• Experience with Siemens lab equipment and Sensis monitoring systems.
• Additional training in cardiac device management such as pacemakers and IABP.

• Required to participate in call rotation covering 1-2 days per week, including weekends and holidays.
• Work involves exposure to radiology and interventional procedure environments requiring adherence to safety protocols.
• Must be able to work varied day shifts of 8 or 10 hours as scheduled.

• Day shifts with varied start times, either 8 or 10 hours per shift.
• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Call schedule approximately every 2-3 weeks, including weekends and holidays.
