Overview
A law firm seeks a full-time Commercial Litigation Attorney in Lake Success, New York. This position is for an experienced attorney capable of independently managing complex litigation matters while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced legal practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct and defend depositions and appear in court proceedings.
- Oversee all aspects of discovery, including document review and strategy.
- Handle arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic legal advice.
- Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.
- Assist with hearings and trials.
- Supervise junior attorneys and support staff as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of commercial litigation experience.
- Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish.
- Strong experience with motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Education & Licensure
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active admission to the New York State Bar; New Jersey admission is a plus.
