Production Innovation Center ManagerThe Production Innovation Center Manager is accountable for the productive, efficient management of the Innovation Center operations. Oversee the manufacturing, performance, assembly, and quality of manufacturing materials for field installation. Oversee the development, process design, and implementation of cost control. Responsible to investigate and implement leading edge processes and create strategies to improve productivity and efficiency. Ensures the Innovation Center runs smoothly, quickly, efficiently, and safely. Additionally, the manager is accountable for delivering manufacturing projects within budget and achieving targeted labor hours in alignment with the company's business plan.Position requirements include:Uses Gaylor Values as tools to carry out all job responsibilitiesAble to clearly convey progress to the customer and accurately understand and fulfills requestsProficient Spectrum user for approval of invoices, billed job cost, reports, project history, and review of purchase order historyCultivates new business relationships and maintains existing relationships with clientsMaintains appropriate records, files, documentation, etc.High level of interpersonal relationship skillsProficiency in communication skills, organizational skills, and highly computer literate (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Spectrum)Responsibilities include:Leads and manages the manufacturing center and operationsEfficient management of department resources, manages the craft head count and hours including labor, schedules, subcontract labor, equipment storage, chemical storage, manages purchasing, control of inventory, all deliveries, and material logisticsMeets safe operating standards required by the Company, state and federal laws as per vehicles, chemicals and manufacturing, as well as keeping the facility cleanManages and instills incident free safe work practicesWorks directly with operation teams and the team's field management staffInteracts with customers, owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, drivers, and others who are associated with the construction of the project(s)Collaborates with innovation center and corporate leaders to help assess resource requirementsWorks with project teams to best strategize resources and clear obstaclesConducts monthly innovation center reviews with corporateDevelops and implements processes that meet all safety and regulatory requirementsOversees implementation of new innovation center methods or processesCreates processes and procedures to create efficienciesInitiates, attends, coordinates, and/or conducts meetings as required to meet the project objectivesApplies general trade knowledge to electrical work both technically and procedurallyCreates and administers consistent methods of scheduling, delegation, and monitoringMonitors and communicates the overall progress on projectsTracks monthly financials of the prefabrication centerTakes field calls and assists project supervisors/managers with cost saving manufacturing ideasDevelopment of "as-is" process map: All touchpoints from beginning to end (manufacturing to field); Key stakeholders input; Understanding value add vs. non-value addDevelopment of "to-be" process map: Ensures new plan meets growth targets; Provide direction and structure to improvement projectsOversees design, layouts, and ordering of materials to effectively produce products to meet project schedulesExhibits ability to review and comprehend a set of project documents and drawings to accurately produce construction productMonitors progress of assigned projects as well as monitors subcontractors estimated and actual status, field personnel alignment, scheduling, and payables and receivable balances in order to facilitate weekly action plansManages the selection, development, measurement, motivation, and cooperation of the manufacturing staffTakes disciplinary action toward subordinates consistent with Company policies and proceduresAccountable for on-site management/safety of assigned manufacturing construction projects and field personnelCultivates working relationships with managers, supervisors, and customer/clients encouraging a cooperative environmentDocuments project/work situations, both written and verbally, in an accurate and timely manner to ensure the company a means of protection through proper documentationLeads, motivates, coaches, and develops assigned employees' technical skills by giving accurate and non-biased job performance appraisalsTeaches and develops high school students, interns and apprenticesOversees employee payroll and time allocationCreates and implements the best practice for logistical plans on projectsEmbeds measuring tools of successCommunication of the expected accountabilityEnsures performance of safety auditsWorking conditions include:May require working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) depending on job location and/or time of yearMust be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets)Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.)Must be able to work scheduled hours, as well as additional hours if needed, on short noticeMust be able to work in noisy environmentsMust be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situationsMust work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasksPhysical requirements include:Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when requiredAbility to stand, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead for extended periods of timeAbility to lift loads of up to 51 lbs.Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingersAbility to climb and use ladders and scaffolding of all types for extended periods of timePossess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for useAbility to work while constantly movingAbility to reach and stretch to position equipment, fixtures, etc. while maintaining balanceAbility to use both hands simultaneously for tying knots and for proper use of power equipmentMust be able to see color to discern color-coded wiringMust be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduitsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing management, Business, or equivalent experience, preferredExperience:Five or more years' leadership experienceSix Sigma or LEAN management experience, preferred
