Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer

$1,450 per week + Monthly Performance Bonus
40 Hours per Week | Weekends Off | 401(k) + Profit Sharing

Established independent automotive repair shop is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer to join our team.

We are a busy, well-established repair shop with three technicians and four service bays . We perform general automotive repair with a strong customer base of Volkswagen and Toyota owners, while servicing most makes and models.

We are looking for someone who is personable, organized, dependable, and confident working directly with customers and selling automotive repair work. This is an important position in our shop, and the right person will play a major role in keeping the front office organized and our technicians productive.

Basic automotive knowledge is a must, Background in Mitchell 1 management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and assist customers in person
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily shop schedule
• Write and manage repair orders
• Review technician recommendations and prepare estimates
• Clearly explain repairs and maintenance needs to customers
• Professionally recommend and sell needed repairs
• Order parts and work with parts suppliers
• Obtain customer authorization for recommended work
• Communicate with technicians throughout the repair process
• Keep customers informed about vehicle status and repair progress
• Handle invoices, payments, and closing repair orders
• Follow up on estimates and recommended work when appropriate
• Help keep the daily workflow organized and technicians moving efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous Automotive Service Advisor or Service Writer experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable discussing and selling automotive repairs
• Good understanding of general automotive repair
• Ability to understand and communicate technician recommendations
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Comfortable using computers and shop management software
• Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the front office

You do not need to be a technician , but you should be comfortable discussing automotive repairs and explaining recommendations clearly to customers.

Pay & Benefits

$1,450 per week guaranteed base pay

Plus a monthly performance bonus that increases as the shop performs better.

The bonus program is designed to reward the Service Advisor for helping improve overall shop performance, productivity, and profitability.
