Our desktop investigations range from locating your claimant or witnesses to complete background investigations. Our S.P.O.T. (Social Profiling Online Tracking) report provides a detailed snapshot including identification, address history, relatives, DMV (state dependent), litigation records, property ownership, felony criminal history, business affiliations, professional licenses and ever-changing social media. The Desktop Investigators regularly communicate with the other divisions, particularly the Surveillance Division, to relay appropriate intelligence to support and assist the field investigators.
Hours: M-F 9am-5pm EST (must work in EST time zone) Location: Fully Remote Benefits Start day 1!
How you'll make an impact:
- Investigate and evaluate potentially fraudulent claims to determine online prevalence and activity level
- Conduct basic to moderately complex claim investigations to collect information and often compile a comprehensive profile of a claimant for use in defense strategy and further potential investigation
- Prepare investigation reports to present findings, and take appropriate action
- Investigate insurance claims via computer-based sources, such as social media, pay-to-access databases, and public record websites and offices
- Communicate via phone and/or email to obtain additional information, records, and documents
- Submit search requests to various government agencies
- Prepare high quality reports utilizing above average reporting skills
- Maintain individual diary with minimal late files
- Follow-up with additional client contact
- Perform specific database searches and conduct further inquiries
- Support extensive training programs and sessions
- Review and uphold quality assurance for desktop investigation reports
About you:
- Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required.
- Preferred: Proficient working within Internet search engines Familiar with the traits and capabilities of various major social media platform General knowledge of multiple Lexis Nexis sites, TLO, Boolean search methods and other internet-based resources
- Desired: 1-2 years desktop investigations experience
