HOUSEKEEPING ATTENDANT (part-time) Incentive award $1,000.00

Job Summary Regularly performs the full range and scope of housekeeping services at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property including cleaning guest rooms, interior public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, exterior spaces, and more. Services include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, moving items, polishing, and removal of debris/trash. Uses hand and powered cleaning equipment in connection with performing duties. Job Responsibilities Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas, operating equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher. Empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes and polishes room furniture, washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls, lavatories, etc. Washes and replaces window treatments, cleans ceiling fixtures, changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds. Moves furniture to clean under and behind, uses step stool to clean window treatments, cabinet tops, mirrors and picture frames. Cleans bathroom areas including tub, tile, walls, commode, floors and vanity. Cleans kitchen area including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets and floor. Washes and disinfects dishes, utensils and cookware. Maintains luggage racks and ensures appropriate number of male/female hangers in closets. Ensures TVs, alarm clocks and in‑room phones are clean, properly programmed and in working condition. Places proper number of amenities in room (consumables and non‑consumables), removes and replaces bed linen, inspects mattresses and pull‑out sofas, and moves/re‑positions beds upon checkout or guest request. Greets and welcomes guests upon sight, maintaining outstanding guest relations. Maintains privacy and security of guests at all times. Cleans corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios and balconies; shampoos rugs/carpets and polishes rails of stairways. Performs scheduled carpet cleaning with heavy (industrial type) carpet cleaners and equipment. Performs deep cleaning as required by program standards, including defrosting refrigerators, cleaning windows, and other tasks for pet‑friendly rooms or rooms with ADA service animals. Maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms. Communicates status of cleaned rooms to supervisor via daily assignments or property management system. Accomplishes minor repairs and maintenance of equipment, reporting major issues to supervisor. Cleans and inspects exterior spaces such as parking lots and outside passageways. Loads and unloads trucks/vans, assists with receipt of supplies from vendors, assembles, separates, stores, and delivers merchandise. Moves heavy items using hand truck and common hand tools. Responsible for the pass key and other keys; returns all keys at end of shift. Reports immediately to supervisor any unusual circumstances (e.g., missing luggage, room status vacancies, extra guests, unauthorized pets). Reports lost and found items to the housekeeping supervisor immediately. Sets up, breaks down, and cleans up the complimentary self‑service breakfast bar, prepares, heats, displays and replenishes breakfast items, ensuring area remains clean after breakfast hours. Completes all required safety & security training. Maintains a clean and safe environment, applying knowledge of blood‑borne pathogens safety measures. Follows NHG protocols during daily service activity. Performs laundry operations at the facility. Possess a valid state driver’s license if required to travel to other lodging facilities. Obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment and other required certifications. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications No experience required; high school graduate or equivalent preferred. Required food handling certifications if applicable. Physical Requirements Moderate physical effort including moving furniture and use of hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
