Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Clinic Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Kansas City, Missouri.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 12/14/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Dec 14, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit position requiring MO or compact license and ortho experience.Details\n \n Work on a 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center\n Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5\n Cares for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases\n Unit supported by Unit Secretary and PCTs\n Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment\n Charting performed in Meditech\n Night shift schedule from 7p-7a with 3 12-hour shifts including 3 weekend shifts per schedule period\n Floating required to other Med/Surg level units such as General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma, with contract labor floated first\n Follows bedside shift report and hourly rounding protocols\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (MO or Compact)\n BLS certification required\n Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required\n Ortho experience required\n Telemetry and NIH Stroke experience helpful\n US SSN and DOB required for consideration\n Two professional references required for MO placements\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care for orthopedic, trauma, and neuro overflow patients\n Navy scrubs required as part of dress code\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted\n First-time travelers may be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-753840.
