Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 2+ years of experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 294-bed Joint Commission accredited hospital offering cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services
• Position is on the 3rd and 5th floor Med Surg units, each with 22 beds
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including surgical, PD exchanges, placements, and psych
• Patient ratios range from 6:1 up to 7:1
• Uses telemetry equipment and MEDITECH EHR system
• 12-hour day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as a 2nd nurse to Telemetry and ED units

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• MEDITECH experience preferred
• Prior Med Surg experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg unit with surgical, PD exchange, placement, and psych cases
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
