Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN – North Carolina

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available, every other weekend required, 13-week contract

Highlights:

• Primary neuroscience unit caring for stroke patients, neurosurgery cases, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and various neurological diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with a daily census of approximately 50 patients
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Comprehensive orientation of 36 hours with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Includes a specialized 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) for intermediate-level care
• Frequent floating required to other Med/Surg and Telemetry areas based on unit needs

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical/Surgical experience (required)
• Must have prior travel nursing experience with at least 2 successful completed contracts; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact state license
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac and vasoactive drip management
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to work flexible schedule and make up any missed shifts within the same week or at contract end
