Lead Cook/Sous Chef - Houston
SAGE Dining Services is seeking a skilled and passionate Lead Cook/Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Houston, TX. If you have a proven ability to lead with excellence, follow recipes in English with precision, and consistently deliver meals that are as beautiful as they are delicious, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you'll take charge of task delegation, provide follow-up support to team members, prepare meals using SAGE's trusted recipes, assist with managing order sheets, and uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. A positive, team-oriented attitude is essential, as we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive kitchen culture where collaboration and mutual growth thrive.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- 5:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Occasional weekends and evenings for catering events
- Summers Off!
Pay Type:
$22.00 Hourly

Full Time

Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.
Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and Team Members, providing service with a smile.
Oversee the preparation of menu items in strict accordance with both SAGE recipes and HACCP guidelines.
Clean all work areas, equipment, and guest service areas on an ongoing basis.
Assist with inventory and ordering.
Train, motivate, and oversee Cooks and culinary Team Members.
Set a good example each day by being a role model and leader in the kitchen.
Culinary degree or equivalent culinary experience required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Experience delegating tasks and following up with Team Members.
Capacity to train and motivate others.
ServSAFE certification preferred, but not required.
Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in English accurately.
