Jack in the Box • Assistant Manager: Store 0096 • San Marcos, CA 92078 • $20.00 – $24.00 / hour • Full‑time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities include providing excellent internal and external service, building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties / Responsibilities Internal Service Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees. Monitor staffing levels and implement training systems for workstations. Identify and develop internal candidates for management and Team Leader positions. Execute “My Promise to You” and the Service Profit Chain by creating a friendly, fun, clean, and safe restaurant environment. Motivate and inspire employees to achieve high performance while adhering to company procedures. External Service Manage daily activities to achieve excellence in restaurant operational performance. Ensure guests receive an exceptional experience through proper training and accountability. Maintain adherence to JIB systems, procedures, and food safety requirements. Respond to guest concerns and complaints in a timely, professional manner, ensuring positive resolution. Maintain a positive brand image through consistent food quality, guest service, and restaurant cleanliness. Higher Profits Partner with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance using management tools. Identify trends and consult on action plans for improvement. Develop and execute plans to increase sales and profitability while protecting the JIB brand. Monitor costs and adherence to budget and restaurant goals. Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed. Qualifications Education – High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience – Internal Promote: Minimum 1 year as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer service environment, 100% certified in all workstations. External Recruit: Minimum 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities At least 18 years old, completed Assistant Manager training and ServSafe certified. Proficient in English; strong interpersonal, basic math, analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Self‑starter who accepts responsibility and shows initiative. Working knowledge of personal computers and related software. Valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel as required. Integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk approximately 85–95% of shift; lift and carry 10–65 lbs; move freely throughout the restaurant; operate restaurant equipment and drive a motor vehicle; operate a computer keyboard.
