About the Role
In the Data Engineering Sr. Associate role, you will be the hands-on engineer behind our APM solutions. You will build and run the data platforms our Finance solutions sit on, from source systems through to reporting, and keep them healthy after go-live. You’ll also support agent builds alongside our Forward Deployed Engineering team as projects need it.

You will work alongside a Senior Manager on our delivery team, and our APM training program gets you up to speed. You don’t need prior experience with Microsoft Fabric or Finance data; we will teach you both. You’ll typically support 3-4 client engagements at a time, working with our consultants, who own the business logic and client relationship. Our clients range from Series B/C startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

Day-to-day activities include the following:

• Data Engineering Delivery
  • Ingesting data from ERPs, operational systems, and Excel-based inputs into Microsoft Fabric
  • Building lakehouse and warehouse layers with SQL and Python, with validation built in so bad data never reaches reporting
• DevOps and Operations
  • Managing source control and deployments across client environments
  • Setting up environments, security, and access with client IT teams
  • Monitoring production pipelines and supporting incident response
  • Supporting backup and disaster recovery for client solutions
• Project Execution
  • Technical discovery and effort estimates
  • Documentation and runbooks written as part of the build
• Internal Contributions
  • Contributing reusable code and best practices to our internal knowledge base
  • Building with agentic coding tools as part of daily engineering work

Experience qualifications include:

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience; consulting or client-facing delivery a plus
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Experience with an enterprise data platform (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric); Fabric experience is a plus, not a requirement
• Experience with Git and CI/CD for data platforms
• Experience running and supporting production pipelines
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and a desire to build with them every day
• Strong communication and documentation habits
• Curiosity about how Finance teams run
• Willingness and entrepreneurial spirit to operate in a bona fide startup environment – high drive and work ethic, adaptable to change, fast learner

Other basic qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Fluent spoken and written English

Compensation & Structure
This is a full-time contract engagement, fully remote, structured directly or through a partner of record. Annual compensation range is $40,000 to $50,000.

Open to candidates in Latin America with at least four hours of daily overlap with US business hours. Travel is expected to be no more than 20%. The role will be potentially convertible to full-time employment after the first year.

OVG covers equipment and training costs for this role.
