Director of AI

This position offers an opportunity to lead enterprise-wide AI strategy as the Director of AI, focusing on the development of next-generation GenAI capabilities. The client is a prominent digital learning organization transitioning from traditional content delivery to AI-driven educational experiences, harnessing data and advanced machine learning to enhance learner outcomes across diverse product portfolios. As the Director of AI, you will lead a team of data scientists and AI specialists, setting the technical direction for Generative AI and machine learning initiatives. Your responsibilities include building scalable AI solutions across various product lines, collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams to identify and execute high-value AI opportunities, and overseeing the development of core systems like content generation and recommendation models. Additionally, you will support strategic initiatives such as ontology development and platform unification, balancing both technical work and leadership duties. Candidates suitable for this role should possess deep expertise in AI, machine learning, or data science, with experience in Generative AI and real-world AI systems development. Strong leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, and the capability to work with cross-functional stakeholders are essential. Familiarity with AI tools like AWS, Azure, and Databricks is beneficial. The position offers a base salary of $250,000 to $275,000 plus bonus, remote work flexibility in the US or Canada, and career growth within a central AI organization.
