The Mechanical Assembler supports the production of industrial palletizing machines by assembling parts, components, and subassemblies into complete systems. This role involves reading and following blueprints and drawings, routing wires, and using a wide range of tools to perform precise mechanical assembly in a clean, organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts, components, and subassemblies for industrial palletizing machines according to specifications.
• Assist with building and putting together the final palletizing machine, ensuring all components fit and function correctly.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to perform accurate mechanical assembly work.
• Route and organize wires within machines according to diagrams and instructions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, air tools, torque tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures to complete assembly tasks.
• Inspect assembled components for proper alignment, fit, and function, and make adjustments as needed.
• Follow standard work instructions and safety procedures throughout the assembly process.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe assembly operations.

Essential Skills

• Prior experience in mechanical assembly, equipment building, or other mechanical-related work.
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools for mechanical assembly.
• Proficiency in the use of power tools for mechanical assembly.
• Ability to use torque tools correctly to ensure proper fastener tightness.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery.
• Experience in production assembly or building mechanical products.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other basic measuring devices.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, organized warehouse with open spaces designed for assembling large palletizing machines. The position operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work around industrial equipment and tools, including hand tools, power tools, air tools, torque tools, and measuring devices, in a structured and safety-focused environment.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
