Lathe Machinist - 2nd or 3rd Shift

Job Overview Lathe Machinist Pay Rate Range: $72,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year Location: Hastings, MN Schedule: Shift work, 2nd or 3rd Shift (part-time or full-time options), Monday to Sunday 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM Position Type: Direct Hire Requirements and Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and technical drawings Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and tooling geometry Expertise in using precision measurement tools Familiarity with various CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas) Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred: Experience with G‑Code and M‑Code programming or Computer‑Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software Preferred: Experience with multi‑axis or live‑tooling lathe machines Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes, including loading programs, tooling selection, offset adjustments, and fixture setup Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensional specifications Perform machine start-up and shut-down procedures Machine parts to required specifications and within tight tolerances Monitor the machine during operation, adjusting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut as needed Perform in‑process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet quality standards Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or quality issues that arise during machining Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC lathes to ensure optimal performance and longevity Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety regulations Replace worn tools and inserts as necessary Adjust existing CNC programs (offsets, minor edits) at the machine control Accurately complete production documentation, logs, and reports Benefits Medical Dental Vision Short Term Disability Long Term Disability AAP/EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
