Job  Summary

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily application of incoming payments, ensuring accuracy in cash postings, and troubleshooting discrepancies in accounts receivable transactions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to maintain efficient and accurate financial processes

  Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and apply customer payments (ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit card payments) to appropriate accounts.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash in a timely manner.
• Reconcile customer accounts to ensure proper payments and adjustments.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, and Sales) to resolve outstanding issues.
• Perform daily cash reconciliation and ensure timely reporting of cash receipts.
• Assist with month-end closing processes, including cash application reconciliation and reporting.
• Maintain detailed records of cash application transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cash application efficiency.
• Support, training, and mentoring other cash application specialists.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards

  Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience with large ERP system a plus; JDE software knowledge preferred
• Customer Service experience a plus.

Required Experience:  

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or related finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of cash application processes, banking transactions, and financial reconciliations.
• Experience in Microsoft Suite including Excel (VLOOKUP/Pivots, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)
• Knowledge of cash applications and collection procedures
• Experience reading AR aging reports
• Excellent time-management, follow-up, and follow-through
• Ability to handle high-value, complex accounts with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
