In this role, you'll play a critical part in creating safe, positive experiences for children and families navigating difficult circumstances. You'll provide supervised visitation and safe custody exchange services, ensuring every interaction is guided by professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to safety.

About the Role

The Family Visitation Center (FVC) promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through court-ordered supervised visitation and safe custody exchange services. The Facilitator is responsible for monitoring visits, supporting families, documenting observations, and helping maintain a welcoming, trauma-informed environment.

This position is ideal for someone who is observant, calm under pressure, skilled at setting boundaries, and committed to supporting children and families with dignity and respect.

What You'll Do

• Supervise parent-child visits and custody exchanges ordered by the court.
• Ensure compliance with Family Visitation Center policies and procedures.
• Conduct orientations for adults and children entering the program.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case records.
• Intervene and redirect interactions when necessary to support safety and child well-being.
• Recognize potential safety concerns and utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
• Document critical incidents and safety-related concerns.
• Assist with maintaining visitation rooms, waiting areas, and program spaces.
• Organize supplies, sort donations, and clean/disinfect toys and equipment.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the agency to support shared goals.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
• Fulfill a 70% direct-service commitment.
• Assist with holiday shelter coverage and occasional outreach, training, or client supply pickups as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in both Spanish and English .
• 3 to 5 years of experience working with children and families and/or individuals impacted by domestic violence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Experience managing conflict and using de-escalation techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services field.
• Training or experience in trauma-informed care.
• Knowledge of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, power and control dynamics, and post-separation abuse.

Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Regular Schedule

• Monday: 12:15 PM to 8:15 PM
• Wednesday: 12:15 PM to 8:15 PM
• Thursday: 12:15 PM to 8:15 PM
• Saturday: 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM
• Sunday: 10:15 AM to 6:15 PM

Evening, weekend, holiday, and shift coverage flexibility is required to meet client and program needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods while actively supervising visits.
• Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to navigate stairs and move throughout program facilities.
• Occasional local travel for training, outreach, and client support activities.
