Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, including pediatric and geriatric patients
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of collections and procedures
• Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting environment and alleviate concerns
• Ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment adhering to safety protocols and confidentiality standards
• Demonstrate leadership qualities by focusing on process excellence and patient sensitivity
• Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping as required
• Maintain reliable transportation to and from the worksite and be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Keyboard and data entry experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than 1 year preferred
• Reliable transportation to the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
• Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to full-shift coverage
• If currently a student, shift schedule must not conflict with school commitments
