About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Active RN license in the state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Med-Surg Oncology experience - Level I Trauma experience required - Travel experience required - Experience in a large hospital Description: The position requires working in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting with some oncology patients. The nurse will be part of a team nursing approach, managing a patient ratio of 1:12, split between RNs and LPNs. Responsibilities will include administering chemotherapy and conscious sedation. The patient population primarily consists of adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of 30-35 patients. Nurses on this unit will care for patients with central lines, participate in wound care, and manage PCA pumps. Limited phlebotomy coverage is available at night. Float assignments to similar units may occur, but inter-campus floating will be rare. Candidates must be willing to work during the holiday season and follow all facility rules and compliance guidelines.
