Benefits Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Benefits Specialist plays critical role in supporting and managing various benefits throughout the Diocese of Green Bay. Our self-funded health insurance plan is offered to all employees within the 16 counties of the Diocese, covering 150 parishes and 50 Catholic schools. This position reports to the Benefits Manager and is responsible for providing a wide variety of advanced benefit administrative services, such as invoicing, tracking and reconciliation, well as customer support calls, and vendor relations. This position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Diocese of Green Bay / Curia Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

”Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church.” Associates degree in relevant coursework required; bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or similar is preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health insurance, benefits administration or accounting position, providing service and with exposure to invoicing and payables and benefits administration. Experience with self-funded health insurance plans is a plus. Accuracy, organization and attention to detail. Relationship building and proven customer service. Tenacity and Follow-through. Competence in MS Office including Excel and Word; experience vendor portals is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication. Strong analytical and reasoning abilities, including planning, organizing and decision making. Ability and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently. Ability to be patient while working with individuals with a diverse skill set. Keep sensitive information confidential.
