Clinical Research Coordinator I (T233901) The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I. This position supports and reports to the Principal Investigators (PI). Under general PI supervision, this individual operates with a high degree of independence and is responsible for all day‑to‑day operations of the study as well as supporting the study's goals and objectives, providing administrative support (such as coordinating daily activities and scheduling), and communicating with the study partner at Michigan State University. In collaboration with other study team members, this individual coordinates the study, including participant follow‑ups. This individual is a general resource to other team members as well as regulatory processes, as requested by the IRB and funding agency. General Responsibilities To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed. To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance. To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). To assist with the study life cycle from start‑up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow‑up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork. Key Duties & Responsibilities Enroll prospective subjects and perform data collection confidentially according to research protocols. Maintain a central calendar for study tracking and timelines. Collect and record preliminary data for research programs. Communicate and coordinate with MSU as protocols outline. Perform data entry, cleaning, and analysis. Schedule research staff meetings as identified by the PIs. Draft and write study results and present them if desired. Order and maintain supplies necessary to perform studies. Compile documents and equipment for use in data collection activities. Coordinate with others pertinent to the project. Create and organize study files, data storage during study, and archives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in a health‑related field (e.g., Public Health, Psychology) or a master's degree in a health‑related field. At least two years of experience with clinical study. High degree of organizational skill and ability to work 40 hours per week, flexible with participant scheduling. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), Oracle, IRAP, and Greenphire. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Detail‑oriented, proactive, and professional, with a strong sense of accountability. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Experience with coordinating federal grants and public health/clinical research. Willingness to perform teamwork and passion for human studies in addiction.
