General Accountant

Job Summary A growing manufacturing company in Fresno, CA is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented General Accountant to support daily accounting operations in a fast-paced production environment. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong AP, AR, reconciliation, and general ledger experience who enjoys accuracy, structure, and collaboration. The General Accountant will work closely with the Controller and management team, supporting financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting process improvements. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts payable functions, including vendor invoice processing, statement reconciliations, and timely payment support. Handle accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, payment application, and aging report monitoring. Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accounting reports, spreadsheets, and financial documentation. Support audit preparation and collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and workflow efficiency. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $23 to $28 per hour, depending on experience. Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week. Immediate start available. Full-time role with strong potential for long-term placement. Required Qualifications and Skills Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. 3 or more years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, or XLOOKUP. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal departments and management. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite. Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
