About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department RN – West Virginia

Start Date: September 2026

Location: West Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 19:00-07:00, weekdays with every other weekend, holidays as required, no call

Highlights:

• 13-week contract assignment in a 9-bed Emergency Department with approximately 40 patients daily
• Diverse patient population across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Cerner charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• 4:1 patient ratio across all shifts
• Facility may consider blocked schedule requests if submitted with initial profile
• Burgundy scrubs provided or required

Requirements:

• Active West Virginia RN license (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; 5 years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers cannot be considered)
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, West Virginia RN license
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, NRP, TNCC
• Strong IV start and triage skills required
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Experience in small emergency departments, trauma-level facilities, and community hospitals preferred
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive emergency care including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and neurological emergencies
• Skills required include management of ventilated patients, central line care, arterial lines, and chest tubes
• Administration of blood products, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Experience with STEMI and stroke protocols in certified facilities
• Mental and behavioral health patient management including violent behavior and psychiatric holds
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy teams
