Diesel mechanic

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance services on Kenworth trucks, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension systems, steering components, and braking systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and electrical systems using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair emissions control systems, including DPF, DEF, EGR, and SCR components.
• Perform engine performance testing and identify mechanical or electronic faults.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet all federal, state, and company safety standards.
• Complete work orders accurately and document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with roadside repairs and emergency breakdowns as needed.
• Collaborate with fleet managers and drivers to identify maintenance concerns and minimize downtime.

The essential functions of this role include:

• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
