Job Summary

This is a travel nursing contract opportunity in the Operating Room at a healthcare facility in Winston Salem, NC. The unit handles 45 cases across 17 rooms and operates on 12-hour night shifts. The unit accepts 13-week contracts and requires candidates with strong experience in at least 2 of the top four surgical specialties: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, or robotics.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub in the Operating Room across assigned surgical specialties
• Manage patient care across 45 cases and 17 rooms on 12-hour night shifts
• Operate within unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, Staff Meetings, and the Communication Board
• Participate in a minimum 36-hour orientation (three days, not including Epic training)
• Perform procedures across specialty areas in the following priority order:

- 1st - Neuro and Neuro Spine - 2nd - Ortho/Ortho Spine (90% of total joints have gone to Clemmons; unit rarely does scopes, cuffs, etc.) - 3rd - Vascular - 4th - Robotics - 5th - Urology - 6th - Podiatry - 7th - Oncology GYN - 8th - Misc. (small amount of regular General, ENT, Plastics)

Required Skills

• Must be able to scrub and circulate - both skills are required
• Strong experience in at least 2 of the following four specialties: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, or robotics
• Proficiency with unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Traveler experience required (first-time travelers may be screened)

Education Requirements

• BCLS certification required
• Active RN license required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required (recent OR experience - candidates who have been out of the acute OR setting more than 6 months will not be considered)
• Management roles as most recent position will not be considered

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• 12-hour night shifts (18:45-07:15), 3x12 schedule
• No call required
• No float requirement
• Scrubs provided (Ceil Blue)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID-19 vaccination: not required

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• Manager will not offer without speaking to/interviewing the candidate first. Please provide candidate interview availability for the next 72 hours when submitting to avoid delays in the approval process.
• Local candidates accepted.
