Job Description

This role involves working on a fast-paced assembly line to build glass panel doors with blinds sealed inside for residential use. You rotate through multiple stations approximately every hour, handle light to moderate materials, and use power tools as part of the assembly process. The position follows a day shift schedule from 6:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offers on-the-job training for all station tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work on an assembly line producing glass panel doors with integrated blinds for residential applications.
• Rotate through multiple assembly stations approximately every hour and become proficient at each station’s tasks.
• Prepare blinds at the initial station, ensuring components are ready for assembly.
• Prepare glass panels by wearing required protective gear such as a hair net, cleaning the glass thoroughly, and handling panels of about 2 pounds with frequent lifting and twisting movements.
• Partner with a team member at the sealing station to align two glass panels accurately using suction cups, place them on the conveyor belt, and send them through the oven for sealing.
• Remove glass panels from the oven, verify that they are fully sealed, and push the approximately 20-pound panels down the line with frequent twisting and pushing motions rather than lifting.
• Continue moving the product along the line while cleaning and inspecting the glass panels for quality.
• Test the functionality of the integrated blinds to ensure they operate correctly before final processing.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly during the assembly process.
• Follow production procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout all stages of assembly.
• Collaborate with team members, communicate effectively, and support a smooth, continuous production flow.
• Demonstrate reliability by maintaining consistent attendance and readiness to work the scheduled shift.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Comfort working on a fast-paced assembly line with frequent rotation between stations.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting, twisting, and pushing motions throughout the shift.
• Willingness to train, learn new tasks, and become proficient at each assembly station.
• Positive, cooperative attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to perform mechanical and general production tasks.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with assembly line work, assembly, or mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with using a variety of hand tools and power tools in a production environment.
• Comfort working in a large manufacturing facility with repetitive tasks and rotating responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail when cleaning glass, aligning panels, and testing blinds.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to help others and learn from experienced coworkers.

Work Environment

You work in a clean, very large manufacturing facility designed for efficient assembly line production. The role follows a day shift schedule from 6:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work is described as not heavy or difficult, but it does involve frequent lifting, twisting, and pushing of glass panels and door components, including handling items up to approximately 20 pounds on the line and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed. You use hand tools and power tools regularly and wear appropriate protective gear, such as a hair net at the glass-prepping station. The environment is structured yet laid back, with a culture that encourages teamwork, learning, and mutual support.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zeeland, MI.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
