Job Responsibilities The Metal Fabricator works closely with manufacturing engineering team to research and develop creative and effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects The Metal Fabricator, along with manufacturing engineering team, develops methods to improve department operation and overall operation of the manufacturing process Weld & fabricate metal reinforcements for various production molds Weld & assemble a variety of jigs, fixtures used in manufacturing Order and maintain department supplies Qualifications (Required Education and Experience) Knowledge of manufacturing process Trade school/college education - welding Proficient in MIG welding Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues Familiar with metal working tools including horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, belt, grinder Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift Experience with hand tools including drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, sander, etc. Knowledge of basic shop math Experience With the Following is a Plus Hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus Excellent team and communication skills Knowledge of basic woodworking machines: table saw, band saw, radial arm saw 1-3 years experience reading blueprints Boat assembly experience is a plus TIG, pulse, and flux core is a plus General Job Requirements Promote a safe and clean work environment Willingness to work on a team or individually Able to follow manufacturing instruction and understand processes Must practice PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies as mandated per area.
