About the Position

Job Title

Surgical Technologist – OR CST

Location

Charleston, SC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Holiday rotation required | 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule period | Up to 4 on-call shifts per 4-week schedule period

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub surgical cases across a wide range of specialties including Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (craniotomy, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, and GU/GYN
• Function within a Level I Trauma Center environment, supporting a high-volume, fast-paced main OR with 21 surgical suites
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities as required
• Utilize EPIC for surgical charting and documentation
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency surgical needs as assigned
• Be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• NBSTSA certification (CST) required — NCCT certification is not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Radiation badge required — must be provided by the placing agency
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles) may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Neuro cases including spines and craniotomies
• Experience with ENT flap procedures
• Robotics experience, specifically with the Da Vinci Xi system
