This role combines executive reporting, operational rigor, and forward-looking analytics to influence financial outcomes.You willExpense Planning & Leadership SupportOwn consolidated expense exhibits supporting the annual planning process and executive leadership reviewsDevelop clear, executive-ready materials highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunitiesPartner with Expense Management to validate planning assumptionsStrategic Expense AnalyticsSupport enterprise-wide expense studies and benchmarking initiativesProvide detailed analytics across product, department, and account dimensionsTranslate complex financial data into actionable insightsStrategically partner and support transformational initiatives inclusive of business case developmentUnit Cost & Performance MetricsOwn monthly unit cost reporting, validation, and distributionEnsure timely and accurate refresh of YTD expense dataEnhance visibility into cost efficiency and performance trendsProduct AllocationsOwn and maintain product allocation methodologies across Group cost centersPartner with Pricing and business leaders to support product margin targetsResolve allocation variances across Group and Corporate structuresTransformation & Organizational SupportSupport transformation initiatives and organizational changesValidate department alignment and assess financial implicationsIdentify opportunities to streamline and improve planning processesProduct Strategy SupportPartner with product teams on profitability and cost analysisProvide expense insights tied to allocations and unit cost driversAd Hoc & Cross-Functional AnalysisDeliver targeted expense analyses for actuarial, regulatory, and leadership needsSupport cost management, acquisition, and renewal analysisRespond to evolving business priorities with strong analytical supportSystems & ControlsParticipate in UAT testing and enhancements for financial systems (e.g., Oracle)Ensure integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of expense reporting processesSupport automation and modernization of FP&A workflowsTechnical SkillsExcel (advanced beginner to intermediate)Formulas (SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, basic modeling)Data manipulation (pivot tables, lookups)Familiarity with financial ledger and planning tools.Ability to:Analyze variances (actual vs plan, forecast vs prior)Identify key drivers of financial performanceTranslate data into insightsYou haveRequiredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field4+ years of FP&A, financial analysis, or expense management experienceStrong analytical and financial modeling skillsAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiencyAbility to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-level insightsStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferredExperience in insurance or financial servicesFamiliarity with Oracle Planning / Hyperion / SmartViewExperience with large, matrixed organizationsLocation/TravelHybrid: 3 days in a Guardian office located in Hudson Yards, NYC; Holmdel NJ; Boston, MA or Bethlehem, PA.Salary Range:$103,450.00 - $169,960.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
