Job Title Welder/Fabricator Location Charlotte, NC Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team on the night shift, specializing in the fabrication and welding of components for tanks and vessels. The ideal candidate will interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute precise layouts, utilizing specialized welding techniques including TIG, MIG and plasma cutting. This position works 6 pm–6 am, Monday‑Thursday, with overtime opportunities as workload permits. Primary Functions And Duties Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts. Use specialized welding equipment including TIG, MIG, and plasma cutters. Fit, fabricate and weld components to tanks and vessels such as nozzles, manways, ladders, handrails, platforms, pipe joints, tube‑to‑tube sheets and thermal jackets. Follow and enforce strict shop safety regulations, wearing safety glasses, heat‑resistant gloves, protective masks and safety shoes. Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. Weld components using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety, ensuring good housekeeping. Work a minimum of 40 hrs/wk with overtime as needed; the current work week is 48 hrs, Monday‑Friday. Collaborate with team members to ensure top quality and high standards while welding on stainless steel, carbon steel and high‑nickel alloys. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following Read blueprints and utilize those to lay out work and build products. Read and understand measurements. Layout, fit, and weld nozzles and other parts inside and out per the drawings. Operate an overhead crane. Must pass ASME 6G SCH.80 (SA312TP316L) 2" pipe test using GTAW process. Must pass ASME 2G plate (SA36 & SA240‑304) test using GMAW process. Must pass a drug test and background check. Lift up to 50 lbs, work safely from a ladder, and be able to work inside a tank/vessel. Have TIG & MIG welding experience; pulsed MIG is preferred. Experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and high‑nickel alloys.
