Cardiothoracic Transplant Pharmacist Specialist

This exciting opportunity to join our Mayo Clinic Hospital Pharmacy Team is for a Cardiothoracic Transplant Hospital Pharmacist Specialist. This pharmacist will practice as a decentralized Pharmacist in the patient care areas in our hospital tower, as well as a clinical expert to support Transplant Practice at Mayo Clinic in Florida and drive the practice forward. Effectively performs the activities and duties of the Pharmacist Specialist position with responsibilities including consultation, education, research and supervisory functions. Provides an expert level of guidance on medication use in the specialty area of practice. Serves as preceptor for Pharmacy Education program(s). Required Education and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy - Pharm.D. or B.S.ANDCompletion of one of the following:An accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency AND an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in area of specialty An accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency AND at least 2-years of relevant pharmacy practice experience in specialty areaAt least 2-years of relevant pharmacy practice experience AND at least 2-years of relevant pharmacy practice experience in specialty area. Preferred QualificationsPGY2 Transplant Residency completion AND at least 1-year experience in Hospital Pharmacy Practice highly preferred. Proven history of establishing and maintaining a progressive clinical pharmacy practice in area of specialty. Experience in pharmacotherapy and/or pharmacy practice research, participation in scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentations, and clinical teaching experience. Demonstration of leadership and team building skills. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications. Additional QualificationsExperience and/or interest in teaching required. Strong commitment to excellence. Project management and coordination skills. Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal supervision. License and CertificationCurrent, active Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) in area of specialty or certification (EXCEPTION: Candidates with PGY2 training in area of specialty required to obtain board certification within 12 months of hire). Eligible for licensure by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire. Academic Appointment within 18 months of hire.
