Purpose of the job Designs and implements Business Intelligence and data engineering solutions across enterprise data platforms, including ETL development, data modeling, and performance optimization. Responsible for building and supporting modern data integration solutions leveraging Snowflake and cloud-based data platforms. Develops scalable data pipelines, integrates BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Business Objects), and ensures data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for analytics and operational reporting. This role supports enterprise BI by enabling both structured reporting solutions and ad hoc data requests, partnering with business teams to deliver timely data insights. The Data Engineer contributes to the design and build-out of future‑state data architecture and serves as a key technical resource supporting the Senior Manager of Data & Platform and the Business Intelligence organization. Architect, design, construct, test, tune, deploy, and support data integration and ETL solutions across enterprise platforms. Develop and maintain data pipelines using SQL, ETL tools, and Snowflake-based architectures. Design and implement Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) solutions utilizing SSIS and modern data pipeline frameworks. Build and support data integration between Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau) and enterprise data platforms. Support Snowflake integration, ingestion, and data modeling efforts aligned to enterprise data strategy. Analyze and map data across systems to support reporting, analytics, and operational use cases. Perform ad hoc data pulls and analysis to support business requests and enterprise BI needs. Ensure data solutions meet quality, performance, and reliability standards. Collaborate with BI developers, analysts, and architects to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions. Participate in future‑state data platform design and modernization initiatives. Support and implement data governance, data quality, and standardization practices. Write and execute unit test plans; troubleshoot and resolve processing issues. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to design and development standards. Contribute to documentation including technical designs, data mappings, and support procedures. Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies in data engineering, BI tools, and cloud platforms. Communicate status of work assignments to stakeholders and leadership. Support operational processes including monitoring, error handling, and recovery procedures. Maintain adherence to source control and versioning policies. Meet timeliness and accuracy goals and support enterprise reporting reliability. The position requires a full‑time work schedule. Full‑time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements. Senior Research, analyze, track and resolve complex production problems. Build, support, and maintain complex processes, programs, and data. Evaluate high‑level project information and assess project components to forecast work effort required. Provide peer‑level review and mentoring to peers. Participate and/or lead complex technical projects. Act as primary operational contact for internal and external customers when needed or in the absence of manager. Ensure Service Level Agreements between department and operational or technical areas are met. Inform manager of any issues impacting the efficient and effective performance of the department including system, resource, and informational barriers; Provide timely feedback to team member on performance. Lead Snowflake‑based data engineering initiatives and support platform integration efforts Act as a subject matter expert in data engineering, ETL, and BI tool integration Support and influence future‑state data architecture and platform decisions Mentor team members on SQL, ETL development, and modern data engineering practices Partner with Senior Manager, Data & Platform on platform strategy execution All Levels Each progressive level includes the ability to perform the essential functions of any lower levels and mentor employees in those levels. Strong object‑oriented design and analysis skills Experience consuming, organizing and analyzing JSON and XML messages as data.
