Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekend Block: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care for an adult to geriatric patient population, including those with dysrhythmias, CHF, acute coronary syndrome, myocardial ischemia, and acute onset stroke symptoms not requiring TPA or critical care
• Monitor and manage all patients on continuous hardwire telemetry, with self-monitoring responsibilities performed by the RN
• Deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on patient throughput and timely admissions from direct admission sources including clinics, physician offices, prompt cares, and emergency departments
• Administer and reconcile medications using Pyxis; document all care accurately within Epic
• Maintain a 1:4 patient ratio within a 12-bed unit, floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Adhere to holiday coverage expectations as outlined in the contract, including working applicable major holidays during the assignment period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a valid Compact license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Ability to complete all compliance documents and onboarding requirements by the Tuesday prior to the start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and care of cardiac and neurological patient populations
• Experience working in a high-acuity, high-throughput inpatient environment
