ESFM Position Title: ASSISTANT JANITORIAL MANAGER Salary: $50,000 - $52,000 Other Forms of Compensation: None ESFM is the corporate facilities management (FM) division of Compass Group USA, a Gold-level Corporate Sustaining Partner of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and a Platinum Corporate Member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). ESFM’s clients include many household names from the life sciences, technology, oil & gas and manufacturing markets. Job Summary The Janitorial Manager is responsible for the supervision, inspection, and control of all custodial and related services associated with an assigned contract. Specific responsibilities will be determined by client expectations and at the discretion of the Director of Operations. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Properly allocate work responsibilities among subordinates. Supervise and coordinate work activities of assigned areas (including common areas, service hallways, food court, etc.). Understand contract requirements and create schedules to maintain appropriately staffed levels. Approve vacation time, overtime, and timecards. Train custodians on work‑related equipment. Supervise, motivate, discipline, and evaluate staff. Supervisory Responsibilities Coordinate with customer management representatives on all matters related to services performed. Resolve client concerns and conduct inspections for satisfactory job performance. Meet periodically with subordinates to review facility services and implement corrective measures for any deficiencies. Monitor supply use inventory and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition. Perform additional duties as required, including hands‑on cleaning if needed. Requirements Strong organizational and planning skills, responsiveness, attention to detail, and excellent follow‑through. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Minimum of five to ten years of recent experience supervising custodial and related employees in major facilities. General hands‑on knowledge of both routine nightly and daytime facility cleaning and related services. Work hours mostly weekdays, with possible evenings, weekends, and on‑call for emergency situations. High school education or equivalent preferred.
