Youth Crisis Stabilization Clinician

The Youth Crisis Stabilization clinician is the third of three phases in the Youth Crisis service delivery program. The Youth Stabilization Clinician is responsible for providing skills, education, and connection to resources in the community that are necessary for the youth and caregiver to avoid further crisis relapse and successfully transition to ongoing routine services appropriate for the youth's continued recovery. Services will be provided in community settings, such as private homes, juvenile detention, schools, and other community settings utilizing active engagement efforts. Additional duties for this position include the following:

• Provide crisis stabilization interventions, intensive skills training, and therapeutic interventions to children and youth who are transitioning from crisis services into routine outpatient services, to promote stabilization of symptoms and engagement in ongoing services for up to 90 days after the crisis episode;
• Provide trauma informed and solution focused interventions, including motivational interviewing, to promote stability and reduce need for future inpatient and law enforcement interventions;
• Assist youth and parent, guardian, or LAR with identifying and accessing appropriate community-based services;
• Provide education and support to families and caregivers to reduce risk for placement disruptions;
• Provide care coordination to address the youth's needs and promote recovery, including specialized programs such as the Inpatient Care Wait list, Residential Treatment Center Project, YES Waiver, Multi-Systemic Therapy, and Community Resource Coordination Groups;
• Work with a team of clinicians, community agencies, school professionals, local law enforcement agencies, juvenile justice, and court systems to provide crisis stabilization services;
• Travel within Tri-County's service area with possible out of region travel required.

Position Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Human Service field.
• Licensed in the State of Texas as a LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
• LPC-A, LMFT-A or LMSW under clinical supervision will be considered at a lower salary.
• 2 year's experience in human service field preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred (paid at a higher salary).
• Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through Tri-County.

Payscale:

Full licensure: $70,000/yr

Bilingual: $74,200/yr

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. All applicants, employees, contractors and volunteers will be checked prior to hire and monthly through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of the Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. All applicants are required to successfully complete a drug screening and a physical agility test prior to new hire orientation.

Applicants who are selected for a position in the Criminal Justice/Jail Diversion Department, TCOOMMI, and those who provide services to TCOOMMI, i.e., psychiatrists, nurses, etc., must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI upon initial hire and annually thereafter.

Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
