Locals only - 30 miles from 1601 Monte Vista Ave, Ste. 100, Claremont CA 91711 High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of accredited Medical Assistant program, BLS Primary care experience in the back office also having medical receptionist/front office skills Two or more years’ experience in medical field, physician’s office/direct patient care; ability to perform spirometry, EKG, use centrifuge, microscope, pulse oximeter, computer skills; ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology; ability to effectively communicate and excellent customer service skills. Taking patient histories and vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse). Preparing patients for examination by the physician. Assisting the physician during exams and minor procedures. Administering medications and injections as directed by the physician. Performing basic laboratory tests and collecting specimens for lab tests. Notifying patient of about lab results. Providing patients with information and instructions about medications, treatments, and follow-up care. Performing routine diagnostic tests such as EKGs and respiratory tests. Drawing blood and performing phlebotomy. Scheduling patient appointments and managing the provider’s schedule Updating and maintaining accurate patient medical records. Handling electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring confidentiality Reviews patient insurance, verify eligibility and collect applicable co-pay or coinsurance, using automated system. May perform other duties as assigned.
