Inventory Planner

Your top priority as an Inventory Planner is to maximize inventory investment efficiency, while maintaining desired in‑stock and fill‑rate percentages for assigned vendors and product categories for all channels of sales and distribution. Key Responsibilities Responsible for leading inventory management execution and strategy, tracked through inventory ownership, in‑stock metrics, forecasting accuracy, service‑level goal attainment, and inventory accuracy; proactively communicates any issues. Works with merchandising team members and vendors to plan inventory needs; accountable for sales forecasts, ladder planning, and vendor coordination for purchasing. Demonstrates effective software usage. Performs all necessary item and vendor maintenance functions within ASR/AWR. Tracks performance in key areas of responsibility using E3 and JD Edwards reporting tools. Orders all merchandise and places all merchandise transfers to maintain necessary inventory levels based on inventory budgets, planograms, vendor programs, location‑specific space considerations, and promotional events. Completes the vendor and item setup process and resolves history exceptions within the E3 system in a timely manner. Expedites all open orders. Updates due dates and other relevant information in the JD Edwards system to ensure all related order specifications are accurate when other departments access the system. Works with vendors to maintain consistent lead times and complete shipments. Identifies and makes recommendations for action on all slow‑turning and obsolete merchandise in assigned categories. Works with assigned merchandising team members to manage inventory levels to fulfill vendor programs, seasonal plans, and planograms. Works with distribution and transportation department personnel to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. What you will bring to the table Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience 1–3 years of related purchasing, inventory management, or merchandising experience Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Ability to interpret and act on data, forecasts, and system reports Strong verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel abilities and comfort using different software packages Demonstrated alignment with Northern Tool + Equipment’s Core Competencies Benefits Competitive Pay: Earn $60,000 to $75,000 annually, with your exact compensation personalized based on your skills, experience, and location.
