Job Title and Location Audiologist – Jacksonville, FL Job Description Provides comprehensive audiometric pediatric services including hearing evaluations, intervention, documentation, patient/parent/caretaker education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate with the guidelines designated by the department and Nemours Children’s Hospital. Actively participates in departmental education activities to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice. Essential Functions Administer age‑appropriate audiological pediatric evaluations, including middle ear analysis, otoacoustic emissions, VRA, CPA, and traditional behavioral threshold evaluations; provide counseling regarding evaluation results and recommendations for treatment, intervention, follow‑up, and referral. Evaluate patients for hearing difficulties and impairments and make appropriate recommendations to physicians, families, schools, and community agencies for follow‑up care. Perform device evaluations—hearing aids and BAHS selection, programming, dispensing, electroacoustic/behavioral verification, follow‑up, orientation, and counseling. Additional responsibilities include earmold impressions, modifications, device troubleshooting, in‑office repairs, and recommending and fitting assistive listening devices. Monitor patients exposed to ototoxic drugs in hematology, oncology, and nephrology with appropriate follow‑up. When qualified, conduct auditory evoked potentials, cochlear implant evaluations, programming, and follow‑up, as well as auditory processing evaluations, depending on the audiologist’s skill set. Demonstrate proficiency in the care of neonates, pediatrics, and adolescents for both inpatient and outpatient populations; independently provide and coordinate age‑appropriate treatment plans. Consult with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend equipment, home or school modifications, and therapy as needed. Attend departmental meetings related to patient treatment and contribute to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member. Maintain appropriate state licensure, certification, and continuing education as required; maintain high professional standards of conduct and adhere to customer service standards of performance. Complete timely documentation as required by departmental policy, JCAHO, and CARF standards. Requirements Doctorate Degree in Audiology or its equivalent from an accredited university required (Audiologists graduating prior to 2007 may hold a Master’s Degree in Audiology). Hold, or be eligible for, a Florida State License to practice Audiology. CPR certification (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) within six months of hire. Member of professional specialty organizations (AAA, ASHA, Florida Academy of Audiology, etc.) preferred. Minimum of one (1) year job‑related experience required. Familiarity with assessment scales and instruments, and techniques of assessment and intervention with pediatric populations. Clinical internship in pediatrics preferred. Experience with physically and/or mentally challenged populations preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong electrophysiological background including ABR, VEMP, and VNG testing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
