Manager - Workplace Strategist

Position Summary Manager – Workplace Strategist in the Facilities Management and Workplace Services (FM&WS) organization. Responsible for building relationships with stakeholders and tenant groups, balancing occupant needs with FM&WS strategic and tactical plans, and representing the voice of customers in local and corporate projects. Key Responsibilities Establish links with customers, key stakeholder counterparts, and corporate support groups. Act as liaison to building occupants and primary tenant representative. Translate business issues, strategic objectives, and end‑user requirements into effective facility and work‑environment responses. Understand customers’ missions and business drivers to influence asset reinvestment strategies. Maintain continuous communication with Workplace Strategy, Facility Management, Global Real Estate, Administrative, Discovery, Development, Manufacturing, and Global Facilities Delivery. Coordinate with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE), Fire, Safety and Security on occupancy matters. Organize and maintain occupancy data, headcount projections, and workplace requirements; update occupancy database for reporting and space allocation. Translate data into 0–3‑year occupancy strategy to support Strategic Master Planning and drive occupancy rates in line with Lilly’s design and utilization standards. Oversee pharmaceutical research environment projects, including lab fit‑out and renovation, ensuring regulatory, safety and workflow requirements are met. Prioritize capital projects; develop scopes and project profiles; coordinate major project capital planning; provide design input to meet corporate standards. Represent FM&WS CBRE partnership, manage leveraged resources, and oversee contract designers, ensuring standards and timelines. Lead interactions with FM partners on capital and expense projects; review and approve capital plans; monitor funding and contract information. Provide Fiori invoice and Ariba PO approvals for FM&WS Capital Projects and customer‑funded projects led by contract partners. Mentor on FM&WS standards, specifications, business processes and guidelines; oversee customer relocation projects. Communicate facility and infrastructure activities to site leadership and general site population; provide content and data analysis support for Lilly executives. Participate in FM&WS site strategic master planning processes and network with corporate counterparts. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or another technical discipline. Authorized to work full‑time in the United States; no visa sponsorship offered. Demonstrated experience in discovery and research development lab environments. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and function; experience in workplace strategy/occupancy planning or a scientific/chemistry background. Strong interpersonal skills, relentless drive for results, and ability to advocate positions with limited support. Ability to work independently or in teams with minimal direction. Experience in multi‑project and multi‑customer environments. Effective communication with senior leadership (reporting, presentations, facilitation). Excellent analytical skills, ability to analyze data and summarize results. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to build collaborative relationships across internal and external functional groups with competing priorities. Fluent oral and written English. Additional Information Shift: Monday–Friday, normal business hours; flexible work environment may not have a dedicated office. Travel may be required for training, seminars, conferences, and visits to other Lilly sites. Salary range: $58,500 – $137,500; eligible for performance‑based bonuses.
