Cost Accountant

Position Overview A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This role will support cost accounting and general ledger functions, ensuring accurate tracking of product costs, inventory activity, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with job or product costing, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of core accounting principles. Key Responsibilities Analyze and monitor product and job costing to ensure accurate cost allocation Prepare and post journal entries related to cost accounting and inventory transactions Perform balance sheet reconciliations , including inventory and cost-related accounts Assist with the month-end close process , including reviewing trial balances and supporting schedules Support inventory tracking and variance analysis , identifying discrepancies and trends Prepare bank and account reconciliations and investigate differences as needed Work closely with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting Assist with financial reporting and internal management reporting Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and analysis Identify opportunities to improve cost tracking and accounting processes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–4 years of accounting experience , preferably in manufacturing or a cost-focused role Understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, or job costing principles Experience with general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environments Exposure to inventory management systems or ERP platforms #J-18808-Ljbffr
