Position Overview The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, reflecting a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Registered Nurse and the Patient Care Associate, provides patient care and supportive services directed toward achieving patient care outcomes, maximizing patient involvement in their own plan of care, improving service levels, and reducing costs. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. Responsibilities Provide patient care and supportive services. Assist in achieving patient care outcomes. Promote patient involvement in their own plan of care. Improve service levels and reduce costs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED (preferred). Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred). Strong customer service, organizational, and time management skills. Successful completion of PCA training course required after hire. Additional Information Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process.
