Staff Accountant

Join our dynamic team as a Staff Accountant, where you will be an integral part of our accounting operations. You will support daily accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and collaborate on process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting functions including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, fixed assets, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
• Oversee and review accounts receivable and accounts payable activities for accuracy and timely processing.
• Perform month-end close activities and prepare financial reports using CargoWise One.
• Maintain accounting records, policies, procedures, and internal control documentation.
• Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and month-end analyses.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, borrowing base reporting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor cash activity, prepare reconciliations, and support liquidity reporting.
• Assist with audit preparation, reporting compliance, and maintenance of audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance leadership to support reporting and operational objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements within accounting workflows and AR/AP functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in month-end closing processes, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Experience with fixed asset management, bank reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with financial software such as CargoWise One, SAP, and Oracle.

Work Environment

• This position requires working in the office five days a week, providing a professional and collaborative environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
